City to Begin Showing Street Maintenance Fee On October Utility Billing Statements
Beginning in October, the City of Corpus Christi will show the new Street Maintenance Fee on both residential and non-residential customer billing statements. The actual billing for the Street Maintenance Fee begins in January 2014 as part of the multi-faceted Street Improvement Plan to address the condition of Corpus Christi streets.
In order to help customers plan for the fee, it will be listed on the October bill for informational purposes only and will not be billed until January. “Customers will be able to see exactly what their Street Maintenance Fee charge will be in January and can plan for it,” said Valerie Gray, Director of Street Operations. “It will also allow for discrepancies to be addressed and for residents to apply for the Low Income Discount before billing takes place in January,” added Gray.
Along with the new fee information on the bill, the Street Operations Department has prepared a brochure detailing information about the Street Maintenance Fee as part of the overall Street Improvement Plan. For more information about the Street Improvement Plan, visit www.cctexas.com.
