INSURANCE
Each employee is provided with medical insurance and basic life insurance upon hiring. Supplemental life insurance plans and optional dental coverage is available. Optional health, life, and dental coverage is available for employee's spouse and children.
RETIREMENT
Upon hiring as a cadet, each employee is enrolled in the Texas Municipal Retirement System. The employee pension contribution rate is 6% and the city matches two-to-one on this employee contribution rate. Retirement benefits allow retirement at any age with a minimum of 20 years of service or at age 60 with at least five years of service.
